Hoist Installation
A feasible solution is to install a rack and pinion crane hoist/elevator which facilitates the access of the crane. Scanclimber offers a range of crane hoists as a solution to the needs and requirements of container ports and harbors. We have a range of suitable crane hoists which vary based on:
- Cage dimensions
- payload capacity (ranges from 300 – 3200 kg)
- silo/shaft space available at the site (where the hoist needs to be installed).
The Port of Rotterdam
The Port of Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe. Being Europe’s largest port, the vast amounts of cargo are handled with harbor cranes. The harbor cranes have tall structures and are mostly controlled from their control panels. For accessing the cranes as well as doing their maintenance work two Scanclimber SC300K hoists were used in order to maximize efficiency.
Easing the Maintenance of Cranes at Le Havre
The port of Le Havre is one of the largest ports in France. The Generale de Manutention Portuaire (GMP) started their operations in Europe in 1976 at the terminal in order to handle an increased volume of containers and vessels. Scanclimber assisted in accessing the port’s cranes for maintenance work by providing a SC300K Industrial Hoists.
Quay Cranes in Rotterdam, Netherlands
APM Terminals selected Cargotec as the quay crane supplier for the company’s Maasvlakte II terminal in Rotterdam. The huge cranes were equipped with Scanclimber SC400K permanent hoists to transport operators and service personnel. Cargotec ordered ten SC400K type permanent hoists from Scanclimber, each with a capacity of 400 kg, or about 4 people.

SC500K
SC500K is the midle size hoist of Scanclimber Light-weight industrial hoist product family. With a load capacity 500 kg and lifting speed from 36 to 60 m/min hoist provide a fast and convenient way to carry smaller payloads of personnel and materials vertically in demanding conditions such as at bridges, harbours, mines, silos, power plants and ship building.
SC600K
SC600K is the second strongest hoist in Scanclimber Light-weight industrial hoists product family with loading capacity 8 persons or 600 kilograms and lifting speed from 36 to 60 m/min. Since the hoist design is modular SC600K can bee design to meet the requirements of the specific location and its enviroment.
SC700K
SC700K is the strongest hoist in our light-weight industrial hoists product family with loading capacity 9 persons or 700 kilograms and lifting speed from 36 to 60 m/min. Since the hoist design is modular, SC700K can be designed to meet the requirements of the specific location and its environment.
SC1500K
SC1500K hoist is one of our Heavy-duty industrial hoists product family. With a load capacity 1500 kg and lifting speed from 36 to 60 m/min hoist can serve in different industrial applications. Good lifting ability and ropust structure enable to transport people, materials and tools with a spacious hoist cage up to a lifting height of 200 m.
