The Challenge
Constructing modern waterfront buildings presents unique access challenges. The project required installers to transport heavy façade materials while working on complex building elevations featuring façade offsets, deep recesses, balconies, and varying installation distances.
Traditional access methods like scaffolding would have required frequent repositioning and additional lifting equipment, impacting productivity and installation efficiency.
The Solution
- The SC8000 mast climber provides a payload capacity of up to 8,100 kg, allowing installers to transport heavy façade elements, tools and materials, significantly improving logistics and reducing lifting cycles.
- The platforms were equipped with 2.0 metre Sliding Deck Extensions, enabling installers to reach difficult façade areas without repositioning the mast climber. The sliding deck extensions provided direct horizontal access for installing façade tiles, cladding systems and finishing elements across varying façade depths.
- The Adjusting Console for Telescopic Pipes allowed flexible positioning of both the Sliding Deck Extensions and guard railings, adapting quickly to changing façade geometries while maintaining safe working conditions.
- Integrated 230 V onboard power sockets enabled workers to operate tile cutters, grinders and other power tools directly from the platform. It eliminated long extension cables and improved workflow.
- Long mast tie distances further minimized façade obstructions, providing uninterrupted access throughout the installation process.
Overcoming the Access Challenge
The combination of high payload capacity, horizontal deck reach, and flexible platform configuration allowed installers to complete façade work with fewer interruptions and greater precision.
Heavy materials were transported directly to the working level, difficult-to-reach façade sections became easily accessible, and onboard power allowed installation teams to cut and fit façade components without leaving the platform.
The result was a streamlined installation process that maximized productivity while maintaining safe and ergonomic working conditions.
